Connecting to the server(ec2-instance) using PuTTY




1   Connecting to the Amazon ec2-instance using PuTTY

     1)  Open Putty and enter hostname which is having with you. If you are dealing with Amazon Instance (EC2 Machine). Your host name looks something like “ec2-XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX.us-west-1.compute.amazonaws.com

    2)  Now browse your ppk file into Auth tab. Below screen shot helps you to find where Auth is in

      



1  3)  Finally, Click on open, It asks you for username. Again if it is an Amazon Ec2-Instance the default username will be ‘ec2-user’.
